Keep watching Swing Orlando Swing as we finalize the December date for Norma Miller and the Original Ink Spots Orlando show date!! What does the late Frankie Manning, as well as Norma Miller, Chester Whitmore and the attendees have to say about Swing Orlando Swing!
Hello, I’m Frankie Manning and I’m down here in Orlando, FL with Alberto and Selena Hoyos and I’ve had a wonderful weekend.
The weekend was wonderful because people were so enthusiastic about what they were doing and they were very interested in learning what to do.
I have to compliment Alberto and Selena for doing the job that they are doing and I hope they’ll continue to do that long after I’m gone.
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen and keep swinging.
Hi, I’m Norma Miller and I’m here to give a testimonial to one of the most wonderful weekends ever here in Orlando. Alberto and Selena have
built the most wonderful dance world and it has been the most inspiring because they have proven love conquers all. This has been the most
wonderful weekend with wonderful people and I’m hoping again that this will continue because it’s all about swing and if you don’t dig swing,
honey, you just don’t dig fried chicken.
Hi, I’m Chester Whitmore and I’ve been spending the last few days of the weekend here at Swing Orlando Swing with fabulous people.
Frankie Manning, Norma Miller and a host of others. Alberto and Selena have been fabulous putting this whole thing together.
At the ages of swing dancers from 6 years old up to age of 60 . Yes, and I’m just tellin’ you, you haven’t ever seen so much
energy in one room or exhibitions of dancing, showmanship, film work. I mean, this whole weekend was something you should
not have missed. I’m telling you, you should not have missed. Now, we have another one, I’m gonna make sure you’ll be there.
Because it’s an experience you never will forget … of all the swing world. Especially here in Orlando. So, if you want to
experience the world of swing be here at Swing Orlando Swing! O.k, do you understand that? Be here, world!
I want to see you here. O.k., but in all truth this is a world of swing and rhythm and everything, and harmony.
I’d like to see you out here.
We came down to see Frankie Manning, Norma Miller, and Chester Whitmore. What a character. Those guys are great. You gotta love Frankie Manning.
You just … just lookin’ at him you can’t not smile. It’s incredible. And Norma is just awesome, just a little ball of fire.
We had a blast at the workshops. Glad we came down.
The best thing about this weekend truly was … repetition is the key and that’s just the greatest thing. It’s a very classic sort of style
of teaching and it was very easy to understand. It was great to see Frankie and Norma and Chester; it was ridiculous. I mean, can you say history,
can you? Because that’s what this is. And it’s incredible to love the dance and also see where the dance came from in front of you and you get
to learn from these amazing people. It was well organized, well put together, well executed, altogether wonderful.
Kim Moser, Jupiter, FL This weekend was incredible. Norma’s all show biz, I love her. Chester, I’ve never seen anybody move like that, he’s absolutely incredible.
And Frankie, just his style. He’s really into making you feel the music. When you first learn swing, depending on where you are, it’s all about the steps.
And they’re really focusing on getting you to feel the music and that’s their style, that’s how they did this, they made this stuff up
because of the music. It really just gives you a whole different perspective on dancing and I loved it. Absolutely amazing.
Paula Kohn, Jensen Beach, FL We’re here with a group from Swing Affair that runs the events in south Florida. I have to say, there’s nothing like dancing and learning
from some of the legends of this great dance. Norma is amazing; tremendous energy. Chester, what a guy. Frankie is just Frankie.
92 years strong, the guy is a living icon. This was a great workshop weekend. Thank you so much. Great job, guys.
This weekend has been really great. I’ve only been swinging for a short amount of time but I feel like my experience has grown a whole
lot and simple things like triple steps come more naturally to me now. And it’s really a great thing to do.
I had a wonderful day today and yesterday and last night. I got to experience the rhythm which Frankie and Norma taught very well and
we’re very fortunate to have them repeat it over and over and over ‘til we got it right. Thank you very much.
This weekend was incredible. I’d have to say just seeing how the music comes from them, Frankie, Norma and Chester, naturally.
Just seeing how they create the music and the steps from that, it was just a great experience.
I just want to say what a phenomenal weekend we have had at Swing Orlando Swing. Frankie, Norma, and Chester: phenomenal,
phenomenal teachers. I’ve learned a tremendous amount about swing but not just patterns. Also the feel of the music, the
style of the music and I’ve learned it from the best. I’d just like to thank everyone involved in Swing Orlando Swing for
making this happen. And I look forward to doing this many times in the future.
This weekend was amazing. Learning everything from the originals and Chester, Norma, and Frankie was just fantastic.
I can’t describe it. I’d love to do it all over again … right now.
